I read in the FT about this very nasty incident with JK Rowling and Elon Musk who apparently made more unpleasant comments (misogynistic, racist and sexist), this time female about boxer the Algerian professional boxer Imane Khelif.
The part which we really struck was Rowling's truely horrible comment.
“Could any picture sum up our new men’s rights movement better?” Rowling posted. “The smirk of a male who’s [sic] knows he’s protected by a misogynist sporting establishment enjoying the distress of a woman he’s just punched in the head, and whose life’s ambition he’s just shattered. https://epgn.com/2024/08/12/creep-of-the-week-j-k-rowling/

Next the IOC (International Olympic Committee) then pointed out, that the female Olympic boxing Champion is not trans and has always identified as a woman:

Has JK Rowling apologized for the clearly horrible comments? Apparently not (as far as I'm aware), and now it appears to be going to court:

To be honest, I doubt whether Rowling or Musk will pay for the crimes. To quote Balzac, "Laws are spider webs through which the big flies pass and the little ones get caught." Similarly my day was a fan of this proverb "If you steal a little, they throw you in jail. If you steal a lot, they make you king."
But that said, this seems to be a particularly nasty case of cyberbullying, and Rowling & Musk have upset many people in recent years? I'm very interested to see where this goes.
